Durga Swaminathan a disciple of Padmashri Adayar K Laxman is an exponent of the Kalakshetra Style. She started her BharatNatyam journey learning from Ranganayaki Jayaraman at the age of 4. Under her tutelage she performed her Arangetram as a 11 year old.

Durga then transitioned to the Kalakshetra style and performed in various media networks such as Jaya TV & Doordarshan.

After her marriage she relocated to Bay area and has continued to perform, teach BharatNatyam. Her students have performed in various competitions, temples and annual events
